Revenue leak library

An estimate should not disappear after it is sent.

Quote follow-up is a distinct stage. The customer may need clarification, timing, or a simpler next step, while the business needs a visible status and a safe stop rule.

Warning signs

Quote-stage diagnostic

  1. List the last ten estimates sent.
  2. Record sent date, delivery confirmation, owner, next action, and status.
  3. Separate accepted, declined, expired, and unanswered estimates.
  4. For unanswered estimates, use a small value-adding sequence with a clear close-the-loop stop.

Practical correction

Use one shared record for estimate status and follow-up. Confirm receipt, add useful clarification rather than repeated pressure, stop on reply or status change, and measure estimate-to-booking by cohort. Treat precise recovery percentages as hypotheses until your own data supports them.
